TRAMA

Today I hosted a giveaway on Sam's blog that features TRAMA textiles.  TRAMA is an extremely worthy organization that provides women with the tools they need to preserve tradition while making their goods marketable both locally and internationally. I love the focus on preserving dignity, well-being, and the ethnic expression of its associates.  The cooperative is made up of 400 women from 17 different groups of weavers in 5 districts in the Western Highlands of Guatemala.  Many of the women come with histories of domestic violence, and through being paid a fair wage for their goods, are able to live independently.
